Renewable Natural Gas

Seaboard Energy produces renewable natural gas (also known as RNG or biogas) from the Seaboard Foods waste water system, which is then scrubbed to pipeline quality using a pressure swing adsorption system and delivered to the interstate pipeline network to be used by the public as a renewable energy source.  RNG is generated by breaking down organic matter from components in the wastewater from the plant in an oxygen free environment; this process is called anaerobic digestion.

Supporting the use of RNG aligns with Seaboard Energy’s focus on multiple forms of alternative and renewable energy and supports the company’s environmental and sustainability commitments.
